It’s not about top down management anymore. Your success depends not just on how you manage those who report to you—but also on those to whom you report.
This workshop can be taken as a stand-alone workshop or as part of the Advanced Manager Series.
In most organizations, it has become paramount that there is a need for not only acquiring skills to effectively manage your employees, but also to gain the skills needed to manage your boss. Some employees today are frustrated with their managers and feel as if they have no say. This can impact both morale, productivity and buy-in to an organization’s direction. Participants attending this session will be given strategies and tools to work with and for their bosses more effectively.

Learning Objectives
Discuss your perceptions about managing your boss and investigate your current strategies when interacting with your boss.
Examine the boss-subordinate relationship and what drives both parties.
Explore your current strategies through the “Critical 8” questions that can impact your success, and the “Top 6” mistakes that are made when managing upward.
Prepare for having the “tough-to-have” conversations by using your understanding of communication styles as a strategic tool.
Review the “6 Principles” of persuasion you can use to support you, your boss & the organization.
